Day 2

Of all of the crack pot ideas that i've gotten myself into, this is the one that is going to do me in.

i've always wanted to play the piano. i've have some success at playing by ear but i'm not a natural and it takes me a while to figure things out...and i mean a while.
So now, armed with books that my mother used as a child, i am attempting to learn how to read notes and actually play the piano, not just fumble about.

i have some neat old piano books that belonged to mom. i also fell into access to a keyboard. i would like to put those two things together and teach me a new skill. This was my second night of one hour lessons taught by me and some book with nicely yellowed pages. it's a far more difficult that i could have imagined...maybe because i'm teaching myself...no little tricks of the trade/tips.
wish me well.

Lessons. That's my tip. I'm not sure one can self teach that kind of thing. I had flute lessons all throughout grades chool. The I hit puberty and couldnt move my monster fingers fast enought to play it anymore. Then there is the entire reading bass clef and treble cleff thing at the same time. Hard thing to learn as an adult. Have fun

bass and treble cleff. tell me about it. it took my brain a good 45 minutes to play the first little song with both hands getting their parts right. the second song was a little easier. it's tough.
