self help
In case you don't know, i work as a data entry operator. If i want (and oh i do), i may listen to headphones while working and use their power outlets so i don't put my self in the hole buying batteries. Audio books are expensive thus i go to the public library and select from their suprisingly nice collection.
i've been working at the data entry hole for over a year now and i have listened to all of the Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, James Patterson......... and was looking through all of the authors i've never heard of. then, i stumbled upon the self help section.
I would like to think that i'm a functional, competent person, capable of getting by in life and having some fun between. We shall see. For the upcoming week, i have checked out Self Matters : Creating Your Liofe From the Inside Out by Dr. Phil McGraw (Ph.D), Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson (M.D.) and (the one i'm looking most forward to: Get ANYONE To Do ANYTHING and Never Feel Powerless Again by David J. Lieberman (Ph.D). This will provide me with aprx 8 hrs and 30 mins of self improvement time all whilst getting paid.
This upcoming week, i shall enlighten you with my new found information to self improvement and my reactions. ....
In the mean time, The Book of Bunny Suicides (thank you for the suggestion Rich) was absolutely delightful! I had no idea that there were so many ways for a rabbit to kill itself, let alone for me to kill a rabbit (quickly, so it doesn't scream bbrrrraaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!) I was going to mail it to my mother but i can't part with it yet.

You're going to overdose on self esteem and posotive thoughts! A happy Go get em Shy will be on the loose. Then its volunteering and back to school to study social work! It's all over now!
I still remember that guy walking up behind us when you wre talking about the bunny screem (braaaaaa!) and saying that yas can solve that if yas stomp em on the head.
that man startled me....i had no idea we had an interloper.
oh and too much self esteem and happiness were the same results i got from prozac in highschool. i didn't feel like me any more....
I was not aware of the high schoo, happy drugs. Not suprised every kid i meet these days is on some sort of mood / behavoir altering drug. I wonder where all the normal kids are? heh
i started showing signs of depression ( a family trait on mom's side) early on (around 5th grade) but didn't start taking anything until my junior year of HS. after about three months i started feeling "normal" but continued, as the doctors order, to take the green and yellow pill. after my senior year and into my freshman year of college, i started feeling abnormally positive and couldn't take it any more. so i quit taking it. Mom was really really sick and it took a long time for her to get well again (she even went through electro convulsive therapy) so if i get to feeling sick again, i'd prolly take it again for a few months so the chemical imbalance could work it's way to equilibrium but stop before it fell the other way into too much bliss land.
I had zyban /Wellbutren for one of my attempts at quitting smoking. The giggly happy affect didnt bother me so much as the way it clamped down on my reactions to withdrawl. I had the physical symptoms i paced i was a bit anxious but i couldn't get nuts about it and id dint like that at all.
